Natural Hair Haul!- First Post! :)

Hello!
I thought this would be a good way to launch my new blog (who doesn't like a haul?!). I'm going home to Nigeria soon and stocked up on a few things.

1) Denman Brush- I got this because I was looking for something better than the detangling brush I have already. The one I have works ok but I wanted something that won't tug as much on my hair. Everyone and their grandmother raves about the Denman Brushes so I thought i'd give it a try.

2) Rat Tail Comb- Because everyone needs one or two of these in their life...

3) Satin Bonnet- I have always worn one of these to bed every night and it is recommended no matter what kind of hair you have.

4) Pik- I love braid outs and I thought this would work better during the fluffing stage. I was also told the metal piks cause less frizz than the thicker plastic piks. 

5) Pantene Co-Wash Cleansing Conditioner- I have the As I Am Coconut Cowash, however I was not blown away by it. It cleansed my hair but it was not as moisturizing as I thought it would be. I heard a lot of good things about the Pantene Cleansing Conditioner and thought I would give it a try.

6) Cantu Shea Butter Leave-In Conditioning Repair Cream- I purchased this for two reasons. Firstly, I really like the Cantu Shea Butter Shampoo which I use once or twice a month and wanted to try their other products. Secondly, it is a natural hair cult product and pretty much everyone loves it so I wonder if it is worth the hype :)

7) Cantu shea Butter Coconut Curling Cream- I bought this to use as a styler for braid outs and perm rod sets (maybe even try out the infamous type 4 hair wash and go). Again this is a cult product for many naturals.

8) Eco Styler Argan Oil Gel- I bought this to use for styles where I need a bit more hold. This is another cult product for a lot of naturals. 

I will write individual posts on products from time to time to let you know how they work out, comment if you have any questions!

Hi everyone & welcome!!

This blog is for anyone who is thinking about going natural, newly natural and old timer naturalistas! I have been on my natural hair journey since January 2014 when I started transitioning and I have been 100% natural since February 2015.

I decided to go natural for no other reason than I thought natural was incredibly beautiful. I didn't have any problems with low growth, the lack of edges, problems with relaxers or any of the other reason that spur people to get off the creamy crack...I just didn't want relaxed hair anymore. I'm am so far so glad I "went natural" and my only regret is that I didn't do it years ago.

My hair type is varied to say the least with looser coils at the back and tighter coils in the front. From what I know so far the majority of it is 4a. To be honest hair type doesn't matter very much to me in terms of having a preference. All types of hair are equally beautiful in my opinion.

I decided to start this blog to document my journey and to create a platform for positive discussion to learn from others.
